Murrah Buffalo
Originated in India, Murrah Buffaloes are known for their high milk productivity. During lactation period, these produce approximately 2200 liters of milk. This breed of cattle is usually found in different regions of Northern India like Haryana, Punjab, Delhi etc. These buffaloes are jet black in appearance and have white markings on their legs or faces. Black eyes, compact and short curved horns, thin and long neck are some important characteristics of Murrah Buffaloes. These have fully developed drooping udder. Average height of these cattle is 132 cm and average body weight is 650 kg. These buffaloes are sold at high price in international and national markets.
